COVID Stress

COVID-19 has literally flipped the world upside down. Times are changing and the

future is unknown. Individuals have been impacted by financial strain, loss of home, loss

of life and much more. Stress is the body’s response to a any event. Stress can

manifest as emotions or a physical response. Here are some ways to begin to reduce

stress in your life.


1. Find your triggers - Identifying and labeling your triggers that lead to a stressful response is key.

Once you are aware of your triggers, you are more likely to be able to notice when you

are being triggered and more likely to stop the response.

2. Identify your reactions to stress - Is it irritability? Is it tension throughout your

body? Heart racing? These are key indicators that your body is reacting to a thought, an

event or situation.

3. Find spaces that give you peace - Do you find energy in solitude or around other

individuals? Reading? Writing? Physical exercise? Playing with your nieces and

nephews? There are a variety of ways that individuals find peace. It is key to at least

have 1-2 things in your life where it brings you clarity and peace.

4. Begin to utilize skills to stop
