Melanated Wellness now offering facilitated peer support groups
An announcement from our CEO describing the offering:
Hello and Welcome to Melanated Wellness, LLC. We are looking forward to our work together.
It’s an incredible joy and honor to walk with you and to be a guide on the healing journey you
have set out on. We really want you to be set up well and for you to get the most out of this
experience as you possibly can.
This type of group is for personal development within a support group (peer to peer group) not
psychotherapy. We are only working within the capacities of a Group Facilitator and will not be
held liable according to standards of Licensed Mental Health Professionals through the Board of
Counselors and Therapists. Within this support group, we can work with issues such as
identifying and reaching life goals and changing the behaviors that aren’t working well for you.
This support group will not address psychological issues such as depression and anxiety. For
issues such as these, seek individual mental health attention from a Physician or Licensed Mental
Health Professional in your area.
This is a Closed Group: There are two types of groups: Open and Closed groups. Open groups are those in which new members can join at any time. Closed groups are those in which all group members start at the same time. This peer support group will be closed. No new members will be allowed to join once the group begins.
Time Limit: Based on the curriculum, this support group ends between 8-12 weeks. This allows
for the co-facilitators to be fluid in the process and allow for overflow from one week into the
next week’s session.
